The Home screen is where you will have access to Samsung Galaxy S4's features. The Home screen may be compared to a door, if Samsung Galaxy S4 is a house. Normally, home screens display the icons, widgets, application shortcuts, menus and others. Those are the things that you will usually find on your phone, though it may be customized based on the user's preferences.
"If you are a native Android user, any home screen from any Android OS may be very familiar to you and it may only take you a few minutes to know the functions of each icon or menu. You also know the possible things to do, should there be a specific feature or command that you want to use."
"However, the ease of using any Android's home screen may not be as easy for those people who are still familiarizing themselves with the Android operating system, or more specifically, with the Home screen. With this issue, Samsung is responsive enough to offer a new Home screen mode for those who are still learning this new technology. We will be discussing below how to change Home screen mode to set to your preference."

Questions and Answers
Try to click Home screen mode; it won't click
- First, try a hard reset to your S4.
- Turn off your Galaxy S4.
- Press the Volume up, Home, and Power keys together, and hold them all down until the S4 comes on.
- Once on, the Android icon will pop up. Then, let go of all the buttons.
- Press the Volume down key, and tap the Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
- Press the Power button.
- Select "Yes – Delete all data."
- Press the Power button once again. It will now process the hard reset.
- Your Galaxy S4 should be cleared so that you can re-boot with your Power button, and change your Home screen mode following the "Change Home Screen" steps above.
- Using Air Gestures.
This can be very handy so that you can navigate on your Galaxy S4 without touching the screen. You can enable it at Settings by selecting Air View. You can also enable it by using the drop-down menu at the Notification Panel, and then use the toggle. One benefit of Air View is that you can preview items before actually opening them, which is a time-saver. With Air View enabled, you can actually just hold your finger about a half-inch above a selection to open it. It does take a little practice, but it's fun once you get the hang of navigating this way. If you are having difficulty changing Home screens using Air View, keep in mind that you can have nothing between your navigating finger and the S4 screen. Also, you need to keep your finger about one centimeter above the screen.
Home screen mode does not show Easy mode
If you have correctly followed the instructions, and have gone to the Home screen mode, but still cannot find the Easy Mode option, then your phone may be a version that has the Starter Mode instead. Basically, both screen modes (Starter mode and Easy mode) are the same. Some versions have Starter mode on them, while other Galaxy S4 versions have Easy mode on them. These are just two slightly different names, but are the same in all functions and features.
Home screen mode how to stop it from going to standard or easy mode?
Everytime i hit the home screen button on the bottom of the phone it goes back to standard mode but i have been running go launcher ex since i have had the phone. how do i get the home button to go to this rather than standard mode?
Easy and Standard mode will not work for Go Launcher as the application is in itself a Home launcher application. This means that the mentioned application will show the interface based on its configuration. What you can do now is to uninstall the application on your Galaxy S4.
Also, you can set your default launcher to Samsung's default launcher. What is happening with your phone now is that it uses Go Launcher ad the default launcher application every time you press the Home key. This means that no matter how you change the settings for your screen mode, if Go Launcher is your default launcher application, then nothing would seem to change. To reset the default launcher go to Home > Menu key > Settings > More > Application Manager > Menu key > Clear app preferences.
Hi, i have created extra windows on my phone and i can't close them now. Can i close some of them?
On the home screen there are 7 windows and some of them are empty. Initially there are 4 page and one home button icon, 2 of them on the left side and two of them on the right side of the home icon. Now, there are 7 screen icon. I want to delete some of them, but i could not manage it.
You can remove any Home screen of your choice by following the procedures below. Take note that deleting the Home screen will not uninstall applications on your phone. To delete a Home screen:

- From the Home screen, perform a pinching gesture on your phone's screen.
- This will show all the seven Home screen on your phone.
- Tap and hold on the Home screen that you want to delete and drag it to the trash icon on the upper part of the screen.
- You will be asked to confirm action. Tap on OK to confirm deletion.
How can I set my home screen on Samsung Galaxy?
I have a Samsung Galaxy, not sure if S2, S3, S4. My home screen was accidentally changed. I can't get the right screen to be home again.
Your Home screen can go up to seven Home screens. There is no default Home screen position so you will ensure that same Home screen will be the page where you want to go when you press on the Home key. Rearrange the way how your Home screen pile up and see if pressing the Home key does any progress. If nothing works, what you can do is to delete other Home screen pages. This will ensure that your phone will treat the remaining Home screen to be the default Home screen. You can then add the deleted Home screens icons and widgets.
